50 STATE REFERENDUM FOR GREEN REVENUE

We all know that putting state and local referendums to the election day ballots adds an extra layer of enthusiasm for the people who support it. The following critical problems are pretty much agreed upon by most experts:

  • We need to reduce CO2 emissions.
  • We need to phase out coal and oil ( finite resources) as fast as possible to help slow up our consumption of finite and CO2 producing fuels.
  • Every Dollar that leaves the US for foreign oil weakens the nation on many levels from financial to national security.
  • States and the Feds need more money then they have to finance the recovery from the Bush/Cheney "Plunder Years". Revenue is needed for everything from paying off the Republican National Debt to rebuilding New Orleans to Finding money for health care and much more.

It’s those "GAYS" serving in Iraq!   Desperately needed translators that were fired only because they were gay – how stupid of them to have believed that fighting for freedom of speech meant that they could speak their own truth without being fired from their job.  And don’t you dare ask Republicans about "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell" – they won’t tell you ... and they are VERY afraid!

This is the flow: Mr Bush has only one view, He will not change. Our accusations will only make him more determined, stubborn, and convinced that he, as our Caesar, is NOT wrong.  We are not dealing with a rational being. Besides, he is basically an "Armageddon-ist" - so let's work with what we have. Go with the flow. The answer is always in the flow...

A letter to Walmart

I noticed an ad the other day that Walmart had... Below is a letter I sent to Walmarts customer relations.. if anyone is in agreement, please cut and paste it.. the more the merrier... Here's my letter:

The other day I watched a Wal-Mart Ad of a Wal-Mart employee sitting in a lotus position, hands resting on her knees in the Gian Mudra, chanting "Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart". I found this totally repulsive, insensitive, disrespectful and ignorant of a spiritual practice that has been around for 4,000 years, and codified (by the Sage Panatajali) 5-800 years before the birth of Christ. Mantra yoga, one of the many types of yoga, is used to still the mind and find inner peace, very much like a Catholic would pray on a rosary. Do you think a Catholic would approve of a Wal-Mart ad where an employee makes the sign of the cross and says "In the name of the father, son and Wal-Mart"? Can you imagine the outrage a born-again Christian would feel if you showed an ad of "The 10 Commandments of Wal-Mart", the first commandment in your ad saying "there shall be no other discount retailers before us"?

With Christmas time fast approaching, we are all in a big dilemna. Most of the 55 million arent very joyous at all, while the neophytes will be celebrating their major step to Christian Theorcracy. The corporations always get their way, no matter who wins. Perhaps we should encourage the 55 million to not shop for Christmas. Jesus was poor. Isn't it a bit "unChristian" to buy crap at Walmart that is basically landfill in 1 year? Product wrapping, plastic shrink, boxes made out of our forests.

Kossack Convention Time?

I think its time that we had some sort of face to face convention within the next 6 months. A place to regroup, swap ideas, network  meet each other and proceed for the next 2 years.  It would be nice to put faces to the diaries and will encourage more communicaiton between us outside of Daily Kos. People could hold small seminars on " how to" and  brain storming strategies. Even bring in speakers from other organizations. We need to be a juggernaut by 2006
Things like:
1 The best way to utilize the blue voters in red states.
2. Getting referendums started to ban all electronic voting machines in all states.
3 Get some Kossacks that are Bible savy to give us some insights.
4. Crank up a tax the chuch strategies and campaign to put the right on the defensive.
Just a few ideas... comments?

Dear Mr President,

I am one of the 55.3 million people that didnt vote for you, and I know I speak for more then a few. Your election on Tuesday night was not a mandate. Out of nation of almost 300 million souls, you won by 3 million votes... 51-48. This far from a mandate. You seemed very pleased today about the political " capital" that you said you earned and you intended to spend. Though you may feel you have total control over the 55 million that didn't vote for you, through your control of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of government, there is one area where we have control over you.

Time for Ideas

Even if they dont work and are logical, they may stimulate someone else's creative juices and may be a seed for something big. Remember, we have to think outside the box now.

Theaters for FREE F911 showings

I was just thinking that a fast effective respnonse to the Sinclair airing of their trashy tilted Anti Kerry footage could be this:
We contact all those movie theatres that we bombarded when we needed theatres to show F911. We ask them if they would consider showing F911 for free 1 or 2 nights before the election, as a response to Sinclair. Selling points are that Michael Moore's film filled up their theatres, put lots of money in their pockets, and this would be a nice " thank you" to him, and the American people. Perhaps point out if the Republicans had their way, the film wouldnt be showing anywhere, and alot of theatres wouldn't have made money on it Its an idea that can send out pretty fast via our network, and sure would get alot of press if alot of theatres agreed to it... F911 to be shown for free on NOV 1 at theatres near you!!"

Anyone think it could work? Think some would show it for free 1 night?

A Sinclair/ Lowe's exchange

Dear Lowe's

I am presently building my house here in Hawaii, and I have been shopping your store in Kona since it opened last year. I just learned that you are running ads with the Sinclair Group on the mainland. I will not support with my money a media group that uses Federally funded airwaves and runs partisan movies that distort and dont represent the truth in any fashion and form. Your advertising dollars are supporting this reprehensible act by Sinclair, and I will switch my shopping to Home Depot and HPM here on the island unless you withdraw your ads. FYI last week I bought $7,000 worth of framing lumber for my garage and cottage. I like Lowe's for your selection, quality, pricing and service, and I hope to purchase from you in the future, but unless you inform me that your ads are not being run with the Sinclair group, I will shop elsewhere.

NEW VIRUS ALERT

It's called Bush.exe. It infiltrates and then destroys through fear, dishonesty, and distortion. It is a Trojan horse virus because it pretends to be something nice, sweet and loving, attaching itself to your instinct of trust, truth and compassion. Once it has infected you, your life will become one of fear, death and anxiety. There is not enough vaccine or anti virus to go around to stop it, as the government didn't think it was important. The president appears to be infected with the lethal disease. To see the symptoms, refer to the last debate. Dazed, confused, demonic chuckling, and white spittle dripping off the side of the tightly pursed lips. Similar to Rabies one would get from spending too much time on a ranch with rabid animals around. Visions of Empire. A life of fear, war, death, and punishment.

Grass Roots FIGHTING BACK

Yesterday I was in a mall shopping lot and noticed some Bush/Cheney stickers and lots of support our troops stickers. I asked myself; how can we get to these people and at least make them sit and think about their decision to vote for Bush? Talking to these people is futile ... it always digresses into us against them and no one listens - everyone is dug in.

My mother once told me; "When someone throws you a ball, they expect you to catch it and throw it back. Take the ball, and throw it somewhere else, and make them run for it".

So here is my idea: I typed up a "10 reasons why Conservatives should NOT vote for Bush". I made copies of it and keep them in my car. When I go to a shopping center and see a Bush sticker, I place one on their windshield. Its easy, fast, and effective - somthing to let them read and think about. Feel free to make your own list, change some of these, or cut and paste. Keep it from a conservative angle, not from a liberal one; talk about God and Jesus and conservative icons. Here's the one I wrote up and am passing out. Its something we can ALL do - its easy, creative and fun. You will never convince them to vote for Kerry, but you can plant the seed of doubt in their mind to either sit out the election or throw their vote away to Nader.


10 REASONS WHY CONSERVATIVES SHOULD NOT VOTE FOR GEORGE BUSH

  1. The situation in Iraq is a disaster and getting worse, and more troops, possibly someone you know, will die there.
  2. As someone who proclaims to be a Christian; he doesn't practice Christian values of truth, compassion, or forgiveness. Would Jesus attack preemptively? Or would he try to have a dialog with his adversaries?
  3. Terrorists can now get Assault weapons in their terror war on America.
  4. He is giving contracts to his friends to help build Iraq while you and I pay more in gas prices.
  5. Real conservatives like Pat Buchanan think he has sold out our conservative values.
  6. Bob Dole's former chief of staff, Stan Hilton, believes there is more to 9/11 than is being told and Bush is hiding many details - that he is not being honest with the American people. Stan Hilton is a respected Christian Conservative.
  7. Ever since George Bush has been in office we have had nothing but bad things happen to us.
  8. Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind the attack of the US, has not been a priority to Bush. He has gotten away to attack us again.
  9. Other countries like Iran and North Korea are now aggressively building up their nuclear programs because they know the US is bogged down in Iraq and doesn't have the troops or budget to go after them. We are not safer by any means.
  10. Are you better off now then you were 4 years ago? The late Ronald Regan, father of the modern conservative movement, asked Americans this in 1980. We must still ask ourselves this question, as President Reagan would expect us to do. He was a true patriot and wise man. We should honor him by doing this.

We are not asking you to vote for John Kerry. We are asking you to question why you would vote for a man who has abandoned our values, cost us more in financial turns and emotional terms, and can't tell the truth. Truth is God's name, and we should expect our leaders to be truthful with us. When there is no truth but deceit and treachery, God will punish us. The scriptures tells us this.

If you agree with the above reasons, we ask you cast a protest vote for Ralph Nader, or not vote at all. Even Bill Clinton, with all his failings, kept the US out of debt. You and your children must pay the bill that has been rung up. Are you ready to dig into your pockets? Vote your heart. You know what is right, and what is truth. If we elect George W Bush, we will have a dear price to pay. We cannot have a false prophet at the helm of our country. There will be much pain and suffering for our families. The hurricanes of Florida are a sign; God has already started punishing those who are supporting the false prophet and there is much more to come. We need to practice the love we were taught and that starts in the election booth.
