The Republican’s Achilles Heel?

It’s those "GAYS" serving in Iraq! Desperately needed translators that were fired only because they were gay – how stupid of them to have believed that fighting for freedom of speech meant that they could speak their own truth without being fired from their job. And don’t you dare ask Republicans about "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell" – they won’t tell you ... and they are VERY afraid!
More debate observations follow...
McCain told America tonight that the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy was working perfectly. Oh, really, John? Do you honestly think that the soldiers in Baghdad are better off without (gay) translators that can speak to the local residents? I guess you just think without them the troops can fend for themselves and hope some local wandering translator will happen by and find out what they need to know from the locals. Please tell us more, John. How can you be for victory when you deny the troops the most critical tools they need to beat the insurgents? Translators that can speak the local tongues and generate real Intel? Shame on you, John.
Giuliani also ran to the hills (in his pink satin mules). "We are at war and shouldn't talk about this" was the quote he hid behind. What up with that, Rudy? Don't want the conservatives to remember your "drag days" with Donald Trump?
I guess you’d like to hide behind your own skirt rather than talk about a vital part of any war: Intelligence on the front lines.
One by one the conservative "culture warriors" who spoke in ringing tones of "freedom", "dying", "honor", "dignity", "truth" and "justice" all put their heads down and tried to hide at the mere mention of dreaded HOMOs. They mumbled, spoke out of the side of their mouths, and brushed off an issue that needs to be a front and center reason why the war is being lost.
Gay translators are not being allowed to serve in war where communication and intelligence can save the lives of thousands of soldiers. Gay soldiers who want to serve (and have served) are rejected and drummed out when every man (or woman) counts! This hypocrisy cannot go unchallenged. It is a tremendous vulnerable point and they are TERRIFIED of it – they can’t even talk about it! ("Don't Ask, Don't ... Talk?") It will absolutely divide the moderates from the conservatives. Make it part of the dialog and use it for a frontal attack every chance you get!
